Description: | Florance tells a folk story about two brothers: the older brother is called Palug Rayeh (Big or Older Fool) and the younger brother is called Palug I'it (Little or smaller Fool). In the first story, the two brothers go fishing and Palug I'it is very successful. So Palug Rayeh wants to compete with him but he doesn't know what to use as bait or where to fish from. He asks his brother but somehow mishears and decides to use his mother's ear as bait. He also can't remember where to fish from so ends up setting the rod from the top of the trees, where it doesn't reach the water. So in the end, he doesn't catch any fish at all and is angry at his brother. In the second story, the two brothers go to look for honey and Palug I'it is again very successful, bringing back a whole basket full. Palug Rayeh does not want to be outdone by his younger brother so he asks him where he got the honey from. The younger brother replies that he fetched it from the rice storage hut. So Palug Rayeh goes to the hut the next day and picks up a big basket. Little does he know that Palug I'it has hidden himself inside. So Palug I'it manages to trick Palug Rayeh into carrying him home in the basket and Palug Rayeh is again very cross that he was outwitted by his younger brother. There are many versions of the Palug Rayeh and Palug I'it stories. The following equipment was used: Zoom H4N, Lavalier mic, wind gag, Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM Lens. The recording is in mono and WAV format. | |
