Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) A long time ago, there was a lady who said she would marry anyone who could make her speak. However, no one could successfully make her speak. This story is told in two versions. One is about finding the starting point of the egg. Another version is about making a fireplace using just two stone legs. An orphan boy tried his best to make her speak. Then he went near her carrying two stones and some water. Only with three legs can a pot be placed. He set up a fireplace using two stone legs. But as soon as he placed the water pot on it, it fell and put out the fire. Then the lady said to him, "Orphan boy, it's not like that. You should make a fireplace using three legs." The orphan boy successfully made her speak. Another version of this story is that finding the starting point of the egg. An orphan boy was holding an egg and looking for the hole with a needle in his hand. The lady said, "Orphan boy, how can an egg have a start or an end?" Therefore, she married the orphan boy. That is how the story is told. Transcription (La Ring) Moi shawng de dai hku na hkai nga hku nga. Num langai mi gaw e kadai shaga lu hkra galaw ai kaw she wa na.. nga nna she nga ai da.
