| Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) I will tell you a story. Our elders usually tell us this story about a dog and a goat. They still dislike each other to this day. A long time ago, the dog had horns. The horns were easily put on and taken off. The dog and the goat were good friends. One day, the goat invited the dog, "Let's go take a bath." The dog agreed, "Okay, let's go." Then they went there and took a bath. While the dog was swimming alone, the goat secretly took his horns and ran away. But the dog didn't notice that. He thought, "I should go back, too. My friend already went back." When he went up to the riverbank, he couldn't find his horns. He was shocked and thought, "Where are they? Where did they go?" When he searched for his horns, he saw that the goat was wearing them. He said to the goat, "Why did you take my horns? Give them back to me, please." But the goat didn't give them back to the dog. Instead, he ran away. The dog chased after him. Our elders say that the dog always chases the goat whenever they encounter each other. It is because the goat stole the dog's horns. The goat has never taken a bath since that day because he is afraid that the dog might take his horns back. Our elders say, "Don't be like the goat that stole the horns," when someone uses another person's belongings. The goat was greedy for the dog's horns and stole them. We say this to remind people, our friends, and relatives, not to be like the goat.
