| Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Once upon a time, there was a mother goat and her eight babies. The mother goat went out to search for food for her family. She said to her babies, "Don't open the door to anyone except me." Around afternoon, the fox came to the babies. He mimicked the goat mother's voice and said, "My babies, I am back. Open the door for me, please." The youngest one sneaked a look through the wall and saw a black hand. She said, "She is not our mom! She is not our mom! She has black hands!" Then they replied to the fox, "You are not our mom. Get out of our place!" Then the fox put dust on his hands and made them grey. And he went back to the goat babies again. He made it coincide with the time when the mother goat was about to return and said, "My babies, I am back. Open the door for me, please." The babies thought he was their mother, and at the same time they were hungry, so they opened the door. He ate every baby one by one. Only the youngest goat escaped because he was hiding. When the real mother goat came back, she said, "My babies, open the door." The youngest goat opened it and said to his mother, "Mom, the fox ate all my brothers and sisters. I was the only one who survived." She asked him, "Do you know where the fox went?" He said, "I know, Mom. I know where he went. I will show you." Then they went to the fox. The fox was sleeping behind a tree after feeling full. He was not aware that the mother goat and her son were approaching him. The mother goat told her son to go home and get scissors. Then she cut open the fox's stomach and saved all her babies. She said to her babies, "Bring stones to me. Let's put stones in his stomach and sew it up." When the fox was awake, he got thirsty. So he went to the well to drink some water. When he bent his head to drink, he fell in because his belly was filled with stones and was heavy. In the end, the fox died. This is the end of the story.
