| Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Ga Kumnaw is a bird that lives on the ground. U Sumpyi is a bird that lives above the ground and has a green color. One day, the Ga Kumnaw bird said to the U Sumpyi bird, "My friend, the place I live is really pleasant. Come visit me. Sleep in my house." The Sumpyi bird agreed, "Okay. I will come to sleep in your house." The Ga Kumnaw bird usually stayed in fields where cows often passed by. He said, "The Sumpyi bird, this is my place. It's really warm and safe here. It's a pleasant place." The Sumpyi bird said, "Okay." The Ga Kumnaw bird gave him a special place to sleep, and they were chatting the whole evening. Since the Sumpyi bird never slept on the ground, he couldn't sleep well when the cows walked past the place where they were sleeping. Meanwhile, the Ga Kumnaw bird slept soundly. The Sumpyi bird called him, "My friend." Then he responded, "Yes." The Sumpyi bird asked him, "Are you asleep?" He said, "Yes." The next morning, the Sumpyi bird said to him, "I couldn't sleep the whole night. I was scared that the cows would step on me, so I couldn't sleep." The Ga Kumnaw bird said, "I gave you the best place to sleep. I didn't give that spot to anyone else; I gave it especially for you." Then the Sumpyi bird invited him, "My friend, come visit my place. Let's sleep in my place, too." The Ga Kumnaw bird also visited his friend's place. The Sumpyi bird slept in the tree above the ground. Soon, a strong wind began to blow. The Ga Kumnaw bird was scared and thought, "Will the tree break?" The next morning, the Sumpyi bird asked him, "My friend, did you sleep well last night? The wind was blowing last night, and it was really pleasant, wasn't it? I slept well." The Ga Kumnaw said, "I couldn't sleep well. I was afraid that the tree would break due to the wind. I was awake." The Ga Kumnaw bird's place was really nice for him, but not for the Sumpyi bird that used to sleep in the tree. Also, the Sumpyi bird's place was nice, but the Ga Kumnaw bird was not used to sleeping in trees. We learn that our own place is the best for us. This is the end of the story.
