Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Once upon a time, there were two brothers-in-law. One of the brothers-in-law said, "Let's do business." The other one said, "No, I will just marry a woman." They discussed what they would do. Then the first man said, "I will just start a business." The other one got married and started a family. Some years later, the married man had five children: Gam, Naw, La, Tu, and Kaw. When his brother-in-law, who had gone away to do business, came back, they were sitting around the fireplace, talking to each other. They said, "Let's see who gains more benefits." The married one said, "Let's see." Then he ordered his children, saying, "Ma Kaw, go fetch some water. Ma Gam, go collect some wood." He ordered all his children to do the work. Then he said to his brother-in-law, the businessman, "Ask your money to work for you now." The businessman couldn't make his money work for him. That's why starting a family was much better. We say, "Starting a family is much better." Transcription (La Ring) Moi shawng de shan hkau lahkawng nga ai da.
