| Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) In a village, the villagers usually let a blind woman babysit their children. I will tell you that story. Once upon a time, all the villagers worked the whole day. They left their houses early in the morning and came back home at night. They had young children whom they couldn't take to work. They couldn't carry the children or give them piggyback rides while working. The children couldn't walk well either. Then the villagers discussed and came up with a plan. They said, "The blind woman stays at home the whole day." The rich people said, "Let's ask her to look after all of these children." Then they gathered their children in one place and said to the blind woman, "Take care of them." The children were playing everywhere because they knew that the blind woman couldn't see them. They were doing everything they wanted. When it was evening, the kids were throwing things everywhere. The blind woman requested them, "Kids, don't throw things. There is a beehive over there. The bees will sting you. Don't do it." But they didn't listen to her. The kids threw things at the beehive. The bees flew toward them and stung them. The children cried in pain and ran back to the blind woman. She asked them what had happened. They said that the bees had stung them. She said, "Ara! Ara! Ara! I heard the sounds 'Deng!' and 'Gawng!' Ara! Ara! Ara!" Then she started dancing. The children were in pain, but when she started dancing, they were surprised and watched her. When the parents came back at night, they saw that their children had been stung by bees. The woman had looked after their children as they had asked her to. Because the parents asked her to look after their children, but all the children were stung by bees. The children didn't listen to her at all, so they ended up in pain. They learned a lesson. Since then, the children listened to what she said. Transcription (La Ring) Kahtawng langai kaw myi nmu ai num langai hpe e kahtawng ting na ma hkahkyin nna rem shangun da da re da.
