Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The title of the story is 'When the thatch blooms'. Once upon a time, there was a woman of marriageable age. She didn't hang out with friends or visit other places. She stayed at home while doing what her parents asked her to do. Therefore, she had never seen the thatch bloom before. The villagers wanted to marry her because she was hardworking. But she did not want to get married and was thinking about how to refuse the marriage proposal. She thought, "I should say I will get married when the thatch blooms." As summer arrived, the thatches started to bloom. Then, the villagers said to her, "You said you would get married when the thatches bloom. They are blooming now." Then she thought, "I am doomed. I said it wrong. What should I do now?" She didn't know what to do and simply cut the leaves. All the leaves she cut had become trilobed. The trilobed leaves we see today are the ones the woman once cut.
