Description:		Translation (Rita Seng Mai) This is a short story about Nhkai Bum Mountain in Myitkyina. In the past, Myitkyina was farmland owned by A Ke Du Wa, a Kachin chief. He went to Myitkyina. He took his firearm and climbed to the top of Nhkai Bum Mountain. There was a lake at the top of the mountain. He was sitting next to it. He saw a stick floating in the middle of the lake. He leaned his firearm against the tree and said to himself, "Why is this stick spinning there? Is it because of the wind?" He picked it up. As soon as he picked it up, he fell into a hole. He fell into the hole. He saw two paths: one to his right and one to his left. The path was Y-shaped. He was protected by a foresight nat spirit. He remembered that he had some lead in his bag. He placed the lead on one side, but nothing happened. When he placed it on the other side, he heard a sound: 'Prung.' He thought, "This side might have water." Then he jumped in. Soon, he appeared in the water beneath the bridge over Ake Lake. The side where he didn't hear any sound led to Indaw Lake. The hole where the dragon lived at the top of Nhkai Bum Mountain had two paths. There was another dragon hole in Indaw Lake, too. The American people built a bridge called 'A Ke Bridge' to catch dragons in the past. There were two holes there. The hole connected Nhkai Bum Mountain to Indaw Lake. Nhkai bum pungding du mat wa ai shaloi, Nhkai bum pungding kaw e sha-u la-ing langai mung nga ai, dai kaw wa dung nga yang, nawng a ka-ang kaw shingna langai kyi taw nga na, shi a dunghpau sinat hpe shanat da na, "Aw ra shingna gaw hpa rai kyi taw nga rai kun? nbung a majaw rai kun?" ngu na, hta na ngu sa shaloi kalang ta dai A Ke Du Wa gaw, nhkun kaw hkrat mat wa ai. Hkrat mat wa rai yang, we.... ga kata de hkrat mat wa rai yang, lam lahkawng brang re nga, la hkra lagaw lam langai mi de, la pai lagaw langai mi de (Long pants) labu bu ai zawn rai na brang rai wa nga mat ai da. Dai shaloi shi a, shi gaw myihtoi htoi ai, myihtoi lahkum nat jawn ai re nga yang, shi a nhpye kaw mayen chyu rawng ai, machyu rawng ai dum nna e, mayen machyu dai hpe e, maga mi jahkrat dat yu yang, zim nga mat ai da. Maga mi de bai jahkrat dat yu yang, "Prung!" nga na na, dai prung nga maga de gaw ni na sai, hka rai na sai ngu na hkrat mat wa ai shaloi e, A Ke lunghtung la-ing kaw, moi American mahkrai hkrai ai kaw, dai kaw le re ai da.
