Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) I will tell you about a lazy woman. Once upon a time, there was a woman. She was super lazy. She didn't want to work at all. She thought, "Although I don't work, people will give me some food anyway." Then she just walked down the street. She thought, "The passersby will give me some food." She was waiting for someone to give her some food, but no one did. So she went near the anthill and waited for food, thinking, "The ants might give me some food." But the ants didn't give her any food. She went everywhere, but no one gave her anything. She was starving, but she still thought, "I am a lucky girl." She cried as she went around asking for food, but no one shared any with her. (It seemed that humans and ants could understand each other's languages in the past.) The ants didn't give her any food either, so she starved and died. She died at the top of the street. The corpse began to rot and give off a strong odor. When we walk along the forest paths on hot sunny days, we sometimes smell a strong odor. We spat and said, "Ptooey! That's the smell of the lazy woman who starved and died because of her laziness!" Then we just walked past. Transcription (Lu Hkawng) Moi shawng de lagawn ai num langai a maumwi ngai ya hkai na re. Moi shawng de lai wa sai ahkying aten ni da, num langai mi nga ai da.
