Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The story I am going to tell now is about an old woman and a group of boys. The old lady was a farmer. One day, while she was picking the biggest winter melon, a bee stung her armpit. Then she dropped the melon. The melon rolled down the hill and hit the bamboo. Then the bamboo struck the pig's snout as it was rooting in the soil. When the pig was startled and shook it off, the jungle fowl became frightened and crowed. The squirrel was startled and dropped its fruit. The fruit rolled down to the water and hit the crab. At that time, a group of boys was drinking water from there. A crab bone got stuck in a boy's throat. He couldn't spit it out. It was stuck in his throat. So the group of boys went up the river and asked the crab, "Why did your bone get stuck in my throat? Did you do it?" The crab replied, "That wasn't me. A squirrel dropped its fruit, and it hit me." Then they asked the fruit, and it said it was the squirrel. They asked the squirrel, "Why did you drop the fruit and make it hit the crab?" The squirrel answered, "The jungle fowl crowed, so I was startled and dropped it." When they asked the fowl, it explained, "Because the pig oinked loudly." Then they asked the pig why it had oinked. The pig said, "Because the bamboo hit my snout." Then they asked the bamboo, "Why did you hit the pig's snout?" The bamboo replied, "That wasn't me. An old woman dropped a winter melon, which hit me hard. I broke and struck the pig's snout." Then they asked the old woman why she dropped the melon. She said, "Because the bee stung me." When they asked the bee why it had stung her, it said, "Because the woman is so pretty."
