Title: | Western Apache verb database

Creator: | de Reuse, Willem Joseph
Date: | 2015 | |
Description: | A database of over 16,000 analyzed inflected verb forms in two of the three major dialect groups of the Western Apache language: (1) San Carlos-Cibecue and (2) White Mountain-Coyotero. (The third major dialect area, called Dilzhe'e or Tonto, is not included, as verbs for that area were collected later and in another format.) Spelling is same as in: de Reuse and Goode. 2006. A Practical Grammar of San Carlos Apache Language. Munich: Lincom. 1st, 2nd and 3rd persons of Imperfective and Perfective modes are given systematically, other persons or modes are not provided systematically. The database contains references to my original fieldnotes (1992-2006), to Harry Hoijer's fieldnotes (ca. 1930, reelicited from modern speakers), to the other Western Apache dictionaries, and to related forms in the Navajo dictionaries. Tentative classifications in Verb Theme Categories and Stems are also included. For information about the contents in each column, please read the document called: Notes on Willem de Reuses Western Apache verb database Excel file. Comments: Excel spreadsheet requires SIL Doulos font. Restrictions: contact author for access
