Description: | Two recordings in which Mr Khamchaq Kimsing and Mr Ninshom Chena discuss Khamchaq history. This includes the following two sound files: nst-kim_20141223_07_SM_H5_Khamchaq_History nst-kim_20141223_08_SM_H5_Ninshom_HistoryExplanation The details of these recordings are as follows: nst-kim_20141223_07_SM_H5_Khamchaq_History_Duration 7’52”, About the history of the Tangsa people before the crossing of the Tanai river at Tanai Waqrap (Miiliq). Meaning explained at nst-kim_20141223_08_SM_H5_Ninshom_HistoryExplanation nst-kim_20141223_08_SM_H5_Ninshom_HistoryExplanation_Duration 2’14”, Explanation of nst-kim_20141223_07_SM_H5_Khamchaq_History. Before the people came to Tanai Waqrap, they lived at Manmau Sumdi. At that time Singpho and Tangsa people lived together. They separated at Tanai Waqrap, the Singphos went downstream and the Tangsa went up. Ninshom asked about the separation of the Tangsas, but Khamchaq was not able to talk about that, and about the separation of the languages. He spoke about a very beautiful tree, its very tender new shoots were taken by others, who are consequently more beautiful. According to him the Tangsas took the lower part and for that reason they consider themselves to be ugly. | |
