This is a song about a boy, called Wajom, who stole a girl who was already married. They loved each other and ran far from their place and lived in another village. nst-mai_20120228_04_SM_JVC_Jobnang_WajomStory_Duration 11‘00“, Wajom story (complete version), with some singing; about a boy who runs away with a girl who was married already, and due to their fear they ran away from the village and lived in the small hut in the field; but because they could not live safely, they decided to dive into the big lake, so he covered her eyes with cloth and the boy by a net, and they jumped into the water while holding each other hands jumped into the deep water. The husband was then afraid that he would die, so he came out but the wife couldn’t see anything so she went further down. After that he was lonely and he remembered his wife and was crying, it is a lament due to his heart being broken. Then he sings the Wajom song and he heard the birds that make holes in the tree singing on the tree and he felt sad. He sang ‘how can you make the hole, how can you do this?’ (From this point the explanation is recorded) There was a monkey on the top of the tree carrying a baby and then he also felt lonely and he sang ‘why are you carrying your baby and how can you climb to the top of the tree every day’ and after that there was a great wind (rang hai) and he said ‘eh storm, why are you coming very strong, you are trying to topple the trees, why are you thinking like that? You are thinking badly.’ And after that he had seen a widow and that woman was dressed beautifully, so he sang ‘you are thinking that you want to marry another husband’, and after that in the paddy field when the paddy was blooming with flowers, at that time this flower was first coming out, then also Wajom sang ‘I have worked so hard in the field and now the paddy is not coming out’. Later on the paddy did ripen beautifully and he saw that he had cut it down to early, but what he had left was beautiful, so he was very sorry and he sang to himself like this, so he came back to his house. There were several small puppies. Maybe 4 or 5, with their eyes clothes ‘Eh and in the paddy field my paddy was spoiled and my dogs are also spoiled,’ so he killed all but one of the puppies and then a few days later its eyes opened, and he sang ‘I never thought that these puppies would open their eyes, but now I am sorry that I killed them’ and after that he left his home in the paddy field there was a kind of tree the leaf of which is used for wrapping rice, and he killed himself by a spear made from this tree. And his brothers and his relatives searched for him and found him outside the paddy field. This is the story of Wajom. According to Winkeng Ngaimong, Jobnang sang the song in the true Dongngai.
