SDM25-20111108-03_SM_JVC_Mohen_TangsaGroups.mp4; Duration 7’53”; Mohen talks about all the different Tangsa groups and which of their languages he can understand. He names them as: Shike ‘Shangke’ More “Mungray’ Mimo ‘Ngaimong’ Gaqsa ‘Hahcheng’ Tikaq ‘Tikhak’ Yokuq ‘Yongkuk’ Longche ‘Longchang’ (nirum phi maq) 2’55” He says that there are some Nokyaq Sangwe ‘Sangwal’ Longche ‘Lungkhe’ Yoqli ‘Joglei’ – these are at Manmau Lachi ‘Langching’ – he says that there are not any villages 4’30” lachi phi mi se me ‘don’t understand Langching language’ Maitai – mi se me ‘does not understand’ Moqlum – there are many villages (rera phi maq moqlum) 5’45” Gaqwi – ‘Hawoi’ gaqwi phi nirum mi se me ‘we do not understand Hawoi language’ gaqwi gai gaq ha moqlum gai gaq ha Pontai – ‘Ponthai’ – does not understand’ Kalak gai ga ago ‘ there are no Kalak villages (in Assam) (Note: I have noted the affricate as being non-aspirated, but Mohen pronounes with aspiration, but aspiration is not contrastive in Rera) Although not recorded here, he also said that the Rera name for the Hakhun was Gaqkhun (level tone on khun)
