Description:		The informant demonstrates and describes how to obtain and process the inner bark of the cocky apple tree (Planchonia careya) for a medicine which is used for the treatment of skin sores, burns, cuts and boils. The procedure is as follows: The outer bark of the cocky apple tree (Planchonia careya) is peeled off and discarded. Then some of the inner bark is peeled off, pounded until it softens, put in a clean container of water, and brought to the boil. When the liquid has cleared, the tin is removed from the fire and left to stand overnight. The liquid is applied to the sores several times a day. The procedure is repeated as often as necessary.
