		En 2011, comenzó el proyecto de colaboración Waorani, que involucró al investigador Casey High, de Goldsmiths University of London, al investigador norteamericano Connie Dickinson, y los jóvenes Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo como documentalistas nativos. El objetivo principal del proyecto es registrar prácticas culturales que cubren una amplia gama de temas y contextos, desde rituales e historias tradicionales hasta conversaciones de la vida cotidiana. El proyecto también tiene como objetivo producir una base de datos que incluya un léxico. El proyecto recibió fondos del Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, Londres, durante tres años.
		In 2011, the collaborative project Waorani started, involving the researcher Casey High, from Goldsmiths University of London, the north American researcher Connie Dickinson, and the young Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo as native documentalists. The main objective of the project is to register cultural practices that cover a broad range of topics and contexts, from rituals and traditional stories to daily life conversations. The project also aims at producing a database including a lexicon. The project received funding from the Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, London, for three years.

		Wao Terero is an unclassified language spoken by some 2,800 Waorani who live in the western Amazon area in the provinces of Pastaza, Napo and Orellana in Ecuador. Spanish is the national language of Ecuador. // Wao terero es un idioma sin clasificación hablado por algunos 2,800 Waorani en la area de Amazonia occidental en las provincias de Pastaza, Napo y Orellana de Ecuador.
		Amo Gaba Quipa nació en Pastaza a Awañete y Mimä. Está casado con Ñay Caiga y tiene diez hijos: Mimä, Awankamo, Uboye, Ana, Menkay, Yewenka, Wareka, Bore, Yety y Biye y numerosos nietos. Amo es un cazador consumado y está bien versado en todos los aspectos de la cultura tradicional Wao y es un líder respetado de la comunidad wao donde también sirve como ministro cristiano. Wao Terero es su idioma nativo, pero también habla español y sabe leer y escribir en ambos idiomas.
		Amo Gaba Quipa was born in Pastaza to Awañete y Mimä. He is married to Ñay Caiga and has ten children: Mimä, Awankamo, Uboye, Ana, Menkay, Yewenka, Wareka, Bore, Yety y Biye and numerous grandchildren. Amo is an accomplished hunter and is well-versed in all aspects of traditional Wao culture and is a respected leader of the wao community where he also serves as a Christian minister. Wao terero is his native language but he also speaks Spanish and is literate in both languages.
		Ñay Caiga Omaca tiene alrededor de cuarenta años y es residente de Toñampare en la Provincia de Pastaza. Ella es la hija de Wareka Caiga y Yato Omaca. Está casada con Amoa Gaba y tiene diez hijos: Mimä, Awankamo, Uboye, Ana, Menkay, Yewenka, Wareka, Bore, Yety y Biye y numerosos nietos. Ella es monolingüe en wao terero. Ella es muy hábil en la literatura y cultura oral wao.
		Ñay Caiga Omaca is around forty years of age and a resident of Toñampare in the Province of Pastaza. She is the daughter of Wareka Caiga and Yato Omaca. She is married to Amoa Gaba and has ten children: Mimä, Awankamo, Uboye, Ana, Menkay, Yewenka, Wareka, Bore, Yety y Biye and numerous grandchildren. She is monolingual in Wao Terero. She is very accomplished in Wao oral literature and culture.
		Uboye Gaba nació en la comunidad Wao Toñampari. Sus padres son Amo Gaba y Ñai Caiga. Tiene su bachillerato en contabilidad. Su pareja es Marci y tiene dos hijas. Él es fotógrafo y sabe grabar videos, hacer documentales y otros, además experto en transcripción y traducción y sabe manejar varios programas lingüísticos necesarios para un proyecto de documentación. Wao terero es su idioma materno pero también habla español y es alfabetizado en ambos idiomas.
		Uboye Gaba was born in the Wao community of Toñampari. His parents are Amo Gaba and Ñai Caiga. His partner is Marci and they have two daughters. He has a high school degree with a specialization in accounting. He is a photagrapher and is also knowledgeable in video recording, documentation and is an expert in transcription and translation as well as in the various linguistic programs necessary for documentation. Wao Terero is his maternal language but he also speaks Spanish and is literate in both languages.
		Wilbo is a resident of Toñampare. He is married and has one child. He has a high school degree. Wao Terero is his native language but he also speaks Spanish.
