| Description: | Daria Nadeina describes a few Negidal taboos, such as needing to feed the fire spirit or not being allowed to go to sleep in spring and autumn without having fetched water. This recording was done in December 2005 by Elena Kalinina, Nina Sumbatova, Svetlana Toldova, and Valentin Gusev. In 2018, it was transcribed in ELAN and glossed in FLEx by Brigitte Pakendorf. Natalia Aralova checked the transcription and glosses with Antonina Kazarova, who also provided the Russian translation, in July 2018. // Эта запись была сделана в декабре 2005-го года Еленой Калининой, Ниной Сумбатовой, Светланой Толдовой, и Валентином Гусевым. | This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings. | ||
