Description: | This little folktale describes a clever hazel grouse who tricks the local master spirit and thus escapes being eaten. The narrative was recorded in July 2010 by Elena Kalinina and Nina Sumbatova, and a first transcription was done by Nina Sumbatova, with Galina Kandakova providing the Russian translation. In 2018, the file was retranscribed in ELAN by Natalia Aralova, who glossed the text and checked the transcription and translation as well as questions with Galina Kandakova and Antonina Kazarova. Brigitte Pakendorf provided the English translation. // Эта сказка была записана в 2010-м году Еленой Калининой и Ниной Сумбатовой. В ней рассказывается, как хитрый рябчик умудрился обмануть духа-хозяина местности и таким образом остаться в живых.
This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings.
