| Description: | Om Bodi is filmed as he undertakes the process of making palm sugar ('gula merah'). This entails collecting the palm sugar sap from the palm sugar tree (which has been repeatedly treated over a number of weeks in order to be ready). After collecting the sap it is heated to a specific consistency at Om Bodi's house and then ladled into half coconut shells in order to cool. The video footage was recorded using a Canon Legria HF R606 (wide shots) and a Canon Legria HF R706 (close-up shots). The raw footage was edited using Premier Pro CC software before being exported in H.264 format and re-encoded using the Handbrake program. The audio was narration recorded on a Zoom H1 and Zoom H4n in .wav format using a Rode Lavalier lapel microphone. This bundle contains narration in both the Tonsawang and Tombulu languages. The transcription and translation used for this narration is located in bundle TNW_29_JP_16022017. | |
| Video recorded using both a Canon Legria HF R606 (wide shot) and a Canon Legria HF R706 (close up shots). MTS format has been converted to MP4 using Handbrake. There is various audio in this recording from the internal microphones of the HF R606 and HF R706. This came from the tools used, the talking between Om Budi and his wife during the prosess, and also from other people present. It is intended that this recording will be edited into a 10-20 minute video which can be used as stimulus for elicitation of linguistic data. | ||
