| Description: | Rubén Macario habla del ma:talin de que dice hay dos tipos: uno blanco y otro rojo con flores azules. En el blanco los tallos son más gruesos y las hojas más anchas y largas. Tiene flores blancas. Sirve para curar cortaduras. Se cortan los tallos, se machacan y se le extrae un líquido pegajoso que se le echa a la herida para ayudarla a cicatrizar más rápidamente. Ambos ma:talin sirven como forraje para los puercos, pollos, pavos, reces y caballos. Les gusta porque es jugoso. Donde hay ma:talin, el suelo siempre permanece muy húmedo. Esta planta es muy benéfica para las matas de café y la milpa; aporta mucha materia orgánica al suelo. | |
