| Description: | This narrative was recorded by Elena Kalinina in 2009 from Galina Ivanovna Kandakova. In 2017, Natalia Aralova transcribed this recording in ELAN, asked Galina Ivanovna for a translation and glossed the text. Questions were checked with Galina Ivanovna. In this recording Galina Ivanovna talks about two topics. First, she tells about the holge (see also Doing the "holgan" ritual // Обряд "холган") which her husband hung near his winter hut. Then she switches to the special Negidal state called univcha (suffering from having seen something, mainly food and not having tried it) and the way to treat it. // Эта запись была сделана Е. Калининой в 2009 году от Галины Ивановны Кандаковой. Сначала Галина Ивановна рассказывает от том, как ее муж повесил на своих охотничьих угодьях холган (см. тж. запись Doing the "holgan" ritual // Обряд "холган"). | This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun' and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings. | ||
