Description: | This story was recorded by Elena Kalinina and Ol'ga Birjuk from Ljubov’ Ivanovna Oxlopkova in 2007. In 2017, Natalia Aralova transcribed it in ELAN, asked Antonina Vasil’evna Kazarova for a translation, glossed the text, and checked questions with G.I. Kandakova. Ljubov’ Ivanovna tells about a woman who came to the post office to send off a telegram. The woman working at the post-office was very busy and started calling by phone to send it off, but instead of the phone she held the piece of paper with the telegram to her ear. // Эта запись была сделана Е. Калиноной и О. Бирюк от Любови Ивановны Охлопковой в 2007 году. Любовь Ивановна рассказывает историю о том, как одна женщина пришла на почту, чтобы отправить телеграмму. Женщина, работающая на почте, была очень занята и стала звонить по телефону, чтобы отправить телеграмму, но вместо телефона приложила к уху лист бумаги, на котором был записан текст телеграммы.
This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun' and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings.
