| Description: | This story was recorded by Elena Kalinina and Ol'ga Birjuk from Daria Ivanovna Nadeina in August 2007. A first transcription and translation were made by the team of Elena Kalinina (probably by Nina Sumbatova with the help of Galina Ivanovna Kandakova). In 2017, Natalia Aralova time aligned the transcription, glossed the text, and checked questions with Daria I. Nadeina. The story is about a trip to Polina Osipenko village by birchbark boat during a flood. It is hard to navigate when there is so much water, so Daria I. Nadeina, her father and another woman called Katja got lost because they wanted to take a shortcut. Then they went the usual way, but there was a boat with engine (glisser) in front of them. Katja panicked: first she asked the father to dock because she was afraid of their boat flipping over, and then she was afraid that the river bank would slide down on them. // Этот текст был записан в 2007 году Е. | This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun' and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings. | ||
