Description: | Daria Nadeina tells about an incident where a boy from the village left his house and was out in the forest alone for several days before he was found, even though it was October and already quite cold at night (-11C). The sound quality is quite bad – there is a fairly constant rustling as of some garment, in the middle the old fridge starts whirring, and towards the end a cat is heard purring – so that there are several passages where the speech cannot be made out. Galina Kandakova was present and a few utterances are by her. Recorded by Elena Kalinina, Nina Sumbatova and Svetlana Toldova. Transcribed by Brigitte Pakendorf and transcription checked and Russian translation provided by Daria Nadeina in March 2017. Glossed by Brigitte Pakendorf, questions checked with Daria Nadeina. // Дарья Ивановна Надеина рассказывает про молодого парня, который ушел из дома и провел несколько суток один в лесу прежде, чем его нашли. Дело было осенью, когда ночью уже были достаточно сильные морозы.
This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings.
