| Description: | HYJ1 was busy making clothes, and SUK1 visited her to record her do that. A video recording was not possible due to unforeseen circumstances, but he still asked HYJ1 about was she's doing, and when he realised that she was being distracted to much, he decided to do some lexical elicitation he had intended anyways, and to keep her entertained. The first two files in this series were recorded with a Superlux S502 standing on a sweing table connected to Zoom H5, yet since HYJ1 was using her sewing machine, the vibrations were so strong that they seriously affected the quality of the recording. This was why the mic was changed to an Audio-Technica AT803 lavalier, and subsequently, the recording quality got much, much better, with the sewing machine noise being substantially reduced. However, due to the mic, only HYJ1's voice is clearly audible, whereas SUK1's voice is substantially lower. jeju0089-01 and jeju0089-03 are fairly short, yet the linguistic material contained in them are still considered interesting, which is why they have been included in the deposit. | |
