Title:SD1-272
Bibliographic Citation:Veronika Punga, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan; 2015-06-18; Genre: Medicine/huru: Veronika Punga (neighbour) recorded in Wongga and Luthe's home by the dining table (and Om Paulus Pidhu's and Lebi's, and mine (SD, Cawa Lunda) when visiting Palu'e) in the evening 15 June -15 in kampong Nara. The recording was done directly with the H4N because I knew had to ask questions and that the several persons present would want to add something to the other's narrations. And they did, sometimes interrupting. I also ask questions. Finally I got to record the local practitioners (I call them pisa (dukun, healer) for fun, as a poking joke): Paulus Pidhu, Veronika Punga, Meli Pisane, Sami Vendelinus (present after a while). Lebi and Wongga, and Pidhu (Ebbe, Wongga Luthe's son) listening. Punga told two 'huru' that both use sirih pinang. Neither are prohibitions that inflict disease, named only after symptoms and materials (the 'huru'). This one is called 'huru dhana hana' and is a cure for skin disease, especially on the legs ('wa'i dora', "double skin"). It uses ginger, five paddy grains and 'dhana hana', a kind of larvae that live in old wood. The material is chewed with sirih pinang and lime, then rubbed on to the skin of legs. Like with her other 'huru', no 'bhulu wao' adat prayer, 'Peju' payment with small money.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47846.
