Title: | SD1-209 | |
Bibliographic Citation: | Nggei, Sophune, Pidhu (Ebbe), Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan; 2016-05-30; Genre: Medicine/huru. Mama Nggei, kampong Kaju keri, treats 'huru koli paku'. She uses chewed areca nut and piper betel (sirih pinang), 'seku' (BI. kencur. I did not see it , but it is usually used) and lontar leaf. The chewed mixture is then applied on the swollen body parts (symptoms), in this case the chin of little Huke, daughter to Methi. Must be toothache. This huru was not mentioned among her inventory – see the other recordings (SD1-204-08). I came across this treatment one morning before departing, so very spontaneous and unprepared. Recorded only with my Olympus PM1 camera (focus not perfect). With several villagers, Huke's parents. The file is merged from two files, in one she is chewing, and in the second she applies the chew on the patient's skin.; mp4 file, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47783. | |
