Bibliographic Citation: | Tanga, Tomas, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan; 2015-01-28; Genre: Origin narrative. Title: Sawer gading. Recorded by SD in Tomas Tanga's home by the sea at Wolo habi, desa Maluriwu. Tomas tells of how their ancestors came from Bugis (Makassar) with a ship named Sawar Gading in the year 1408 (1Sept!). They shipwrecked at Watu pou (Stone ship) and the ship turned into that stone, like in the other origin narratives, the main difference being that the ancestors came from Bugis and not from "the west" ('wa mai'). Recorded directly with the H4N Zoom. I came with Ebbe Pidu in the late morning and we had coffee, as is the habit. A nephew of Tomas was also present.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/39001. | |
