Mboe tells a variant of the Monkey and Rat fable. They are friends but take an oath of fire, to hide in a hole with fire at the entrance. The rat can dig and escape but the monkey cannot, so he dies and people want to put the rat in jail, in a container or something else, a bamboo in the end. The rat pretends that it is just eating something inside but gnaws at the bamboo and finally escapes.
