Description:To get this recording, I went to my aunt's place as it was suggested by others that she has a tattoo, and that it would be helpful for me to record and document her for the project. So, to make this recording, my sister and I went to her place to talk to her about her tattooing journey. She describes that initially she wasn't planning on getting a tattoo, but was forced by her uncle. She then got tattoos on her face, chin, arms and legs. Unfortunately, she couldn't get the chest tattoo, as she had a wound on her chest at that time. She also describes the pain after the inking, narrates about the tools being used, and talks about when is the right time to get the tattoos. When asked why they no longer tattoo, she said that with the advancement of the modern generation, they are prohibited to tattoo. Also, people who are skilled in tattooing (artists) are either no longer alive, or else those that are alive are those whose eyesight isn't that great anymore. Lumo said that she is among the last people to get tattooed without paying fines that began to be imposed in the community, and that the year after her, those who got new tattoos were being fined 50 rupees each.
