Video recording of the process of tapyo cooking. During the recording period, Subu Omang is visited by her friends. Together they share about various experiences while growing up and different happenings around. For example, their experiences of the past, the time when they used to go town settlements to sell vegetables. There are several disturbances and interruptions due to the curious two and half year old grandson of Subu Omang in the background. Also the bamboo floor was making noises when people were walking around.
Video is a process recording of how tapyo is finally prepared. Pila is poured on the pan and allowed to be dried up, leaving a thin, solid residue of tapyo. A small amount of pila is again poured over the residue to form another layer over it. The process continues until a solid block of tapyo is ready. The entire process took hours. During the process, Subu Omang also spoke about various aspects of the process, the items required, and traditional beliefs.
