Ce document constitue l’une des 38 vidéos mettant en scène Dafa Luruo, spécialiste héréditaire des rituels Daba (Ddape) du peuple Na (Mosuo). Né en 1933 dans le comté de Yanyuan, Dafa Luruo est le vingtième représentant d’une lignée familiale ayant une connaissance approfondie de la religion Ddape, une tradition orale au cœur de la vie spirituelle et culturelle des Na (Mosuo). Formé par son père, Dafa Luruo a maîtrisé la mémorisation, la récitation et l’interprétation des enseignements Ddape, avec une expertise couvrant trois grands domaines: les rituels dédiés aux divinités, les rituels concernant les esprits (fantômes) et les pratiques cérémonielles. À partir de 2001, Dafa Luruo a collaboré avec le chercheur Latami Wangyong pour documenter ces traditions orales en danger. Leur objectif commun était de préserver cet héritage pour les générations futures, en constituant une archive numérique à la fois pour sa conservation et pour son étude. Au cours de neuf sessions, ils ont enregistré 39 textes rituels, répartis en 38 fichiers vidéo [les deux premiers rituels figurant dans un même fichier].

This is one of a set of 38 videos featuring Dafa Luruo, a hereditary Daba (Ddape) ritual specialist of the Na (Mosuo) people. Born in 1933 in Yanyuan County, Dafa Luruo represents the 20th generation of a family lineage with profound knowledge of the Ddape religion, an oral tradition central to Na (Mosuo) spiritual and cultural life. Trained by his father, Dafa Luruo mastered the memorization, recitation, and interpretation of Ddape teachings, with expertise spanning three principal domains: rituals for the gods, rituals addressing ghosts, and ceremonial practices. Beginning in 2001, Dafa Luruo collaborated with researcher Latami Wangyong to document these endangered oral traditions. Their shared goal was to preserve this heritage for future generations to safeguard and study, by transforming it into a digital archive. Over nine sessions, they recorded 39 ritual texts, presented across 38 video files [the first two rituals are in the same file].
