| Description: | The Naxi priest He Xuewen (1922-2007) reads the Great Prayer to the Wind. This is rhythmic reading, not full-fledged chanting. The same text was also chanted on the same day (before the rhythmic reading). The volume of the recording has not been modified (no digital normalization of the volume), so that it can be directly compared with the volume of the chanted version of the text. The text was read from the pictographic manuscript reproduced on pp. 151-167 of the following book: Nàxī Dōngbā Gǔjí Yìzhù 纳西东巴古籍译注 (An Annotated Translation of Naxi Dongba Classical Texts), Volume 1, by He Kaixiang, He Shicheng, Wang Shiying, and Li Jingsheng (Kunming: Yunnan Minzu Chubanshe, 1987).
